Powering Change with Purpose
GridTech Energy revitalizes shuttered industrial sites, driving economic growth and job creation through the innovation and deployment of clean, distributed energy technologies.
GridTechEnergy, LLC. is a renewable energy power plant concept for re-imaging shuttered industrial spaces, in particular power plants, to drive economic growth, community revitalization, and job creation through collaboration, innovation, and commercialization of distributed grid technologies.
Most of the combustion power plants that have closed recently in Illinois are now located in economically depressed areas with little to no industry.
These sites are not only an eye-sore, but they are also non-revenue generating, non-property tax paying entities.
This poses a huge problem to the surrounding communities since Illinois schools are funding through local property taxes. GRIDTECH ENERGY not only attends to address this issue, but also support IDNR’s (4) main goals to:
- Reach Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2050
- Help Illinois natural areas become more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
- Ensure that IDNR’s climate actions benefit ALL Illinois residents and communities.
- Partner with and inspire others to take climate action.

Mission
Our Mission Is To
- Empower communities through the transformation of energy infrastructure.
- Implement innovative renewable solutions.
- Restore power plants, generate sustainable energy.
- Create meaningful career opportunities that support economic resilience.

Rise of ai
The Rise of AI and need for Power
In the quest for sustainable development, one innovative approach gaining traction is the repurposing of toxic industrial sites into renewable energy power centers. This strategy not only addresses environmental remediation but also supports the growing energy demands of data centers, which are the backbone of our digital future.
02
Environmental Remediation
Environmental Remediation and Land Reclamation
Repurposing toxic industrial sites, often referred to as brownfields, involves cleaning up hazardous substances and pollutants. This process transforms these areas from environmental liabilities into valuable assets. By converting these sites into renewable energy hubs, we can mitigate the adverse effects of industrial pollution, restore ecosystems, and improve public health.
03
Renewable Energy
Renewable Energy Integration
These reclaimed sites are ideal for renewable energy projects such as solar farms, Green Hydrogen production, and bioenergy plants. The large, often underutilized land areas provide ample space for extensive renewable energy installations. This not only helps in reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also promotes the use of clean energy sources, contributing to a more sustainable energy grid.
04
Benefits
Economic and Social Benefits
Transforming toxic sites into renewable energy centers can stimulate local economies by creating jobs in construction, maintenance, and operations of renewable energy facilities. It also revitalizes communities by turning blighted areas into productive, green spaces. This can attract further investment and development, fostering economic growth and improving quality of life.
05
Workforce
Workforce Development
Workforce development will be critical for the smooth operation of the GRIDTECH ENERGY facility. Since most power plant property is in geographically isolated locations it becomes necessary to train people from the surrounding community in the necessary skills to run a facility of this type.
Process
How We Make It Happen

Redevelopment into a Microgrid
The selected site will be transformed into a microgrid—a self-contained energy system that generates, stores, and distributes power independently of the traditional grid. This redevelopment will be centered on the following features:
- Renewable Energy Integration
- Black Start Capabilities
- Energy Storage and Arbitrage
- Smart Grid Technology

Community and Environmental Benefits
By redeveloping a derelict industrial site, GridTech Energy will bring immediate and long-term benefits to the local community:
- Job Creation
- Local Business Growth
- Reduced Emissions
